FARA-AASW, 8th Edition

The AASW is the main continental platform of all stakeholders involved in agriculture and agribusiness research and innovation in Africa. This platform assembles over 1,500 stakeholders every three years to take stock of progress on research and innovation, share information, network, create business alliances, and map out priorities for joint action.

Scope of the Assignment

The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) was preparing for one of its most significant continental gatherings — the 8th African Agribusiness and Science Week (AASW8). The event would bring together leaders in science, policy, business, and innovation to drive conversations around the future of agriculture in Africa.
But as the date approached, FARA needed more than logistics — they needed a powerful digital and creative experience that could capture the spirit of the event, engage global audiences, and sustain visibility before, during, and after the week-long conference.

The goal was ambitious:

  • Build an interactive event website capable of handling registrations, live updates, and multimedia integration.

  • Run promotional campaigns that reached agricultural stakeholders across Africa and beyond.

  • Design all creative visuals — from digital banners to social media assets — that captured the essence of “African Agribusiness and Science in Action.”

  • Deliver a comprehensive report that documented visibility, engagement, and impact.

FARA needed a partner who could combine creative design, digital strategy, and storytelling — seamlessly.

Our Approach
& Solution

Trybal Mark stepped in as the digital and creative lead for the event, handling all aspects of online experience and promotion. The approach was centered on clarity, accessibility, and engagement.

Here’s how the project unfolded:

  • Website Development:
Trybal Mark designed and developed the official AASW8 website, featuring an intuitive layout, easy navigation, and responsive design for all devices. The platform included real-time updates, event schedules, speaker profiles, and media resources — serving as the digital hub for delegates and stakeholders.

  • Promotional Campaigns:
A series of targeted campaigns were launched across social media, newsletters, and partner platforms, spotlighting speakers, sessions, and key themes. The tone was modern, energetic, and pan-African, ensuring the event gained momentum in the weeks leading up to the launch.

  • Creative Design:
Trybal Mark produced the full range of creative materials — digital banners, flyers, backdrops, infographics, motion graphics, and branded visuals — aligning everything with FARA’s brand guidelines. Each piece was designed to reinforce the event’s theme while keeping a consistent visual identity across channels.

  • Post-Event Reporting:
Following the event, Trybal Mark developed a detailed communication report documenting analytics, campaign reach, social media performance, audience engagement, and recommendations for future editions of the Agribusiness and Science Week.

How the Problem Was Solved

By merging technology and creativity, Trybal Mark turned AASW8 into a vibrant online experience that matched the scale of the event itself. The unified website, captivating visuals, and coordinated digital campaigns helped position the 8th African Agribusiness & Science Week as one of FARA’s most visible and engaging editions yet.

Results & Impact

  • The event website recorded strong traffic and engagement throughout the week.
  • Social media reach and impressions surged, with active participation from partners, researchers, and delegates worldwide.
  • The event’s brand identity became instantly recognizable through consistent visuals and messaging.
  • FARA received a data-backed communication report that now guides planning for future events.

The success of the 8th African Agribusiness & Science Week demonstrated the strength of creative collaboration between FARA and Trybal Mark. Together, we transformed a high-level policy and research event into a continent-wide digital experience — one that celebrated African innovation, science, and agribusiness excellence.
